Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Fiskal Accounting. Written to be read — if a clause is unclear, ask and we will explain it before you sign up.
1. Who these terms are with
These terms are between you (the business subscribing) and Fiskal Accounting, whose contact address is info@fiskalaccounting.com. They cover the hosted service at fiskalaccounting.com. A self-hosted installation on your own server is covered by the separate licence issued with it.
2. The free trial
New accounts get 30 days free, with the whole product available. No payment details are required to start. If you do not choose a plan by the end of the trial, the account follows the same path as a subscription that has ended — see section 6.
3. Subscription and payment
You choose a plan and a billing period. Prices are those shown on the plans section of our site at the time you subscribe. A subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for. We may change prices for future periods and will tell you before a change affects you; a price change never applies to a period already paid.
4. Your data is yours
Everything you enter belongs to you. Each business is kept in its own separate database, not in shared tables. You can download a complete backup of your own database from inside the system at any time while your account is open, without asking us. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for anything other than running and supporting the service for you.
5. What we are responsible for
We provide the service with reasonable skill and care, keep the system backed up, and fix faults as quickly as we reasonably can. We do not promise the service will never be unavailable: maintenance, hosting failures and internet outages happen. We are not your accountant — the figures you enter, the returns you file and the decisions you take from them remain yours.
6. What happens if payment stops
The day after your paid period ends, the account becomes read-only: you can still sign in, read, print and download a full backup, but you cannot enter anything new. That lasts 12 months. After it, sign-in stops and your database is kept, untouched, for a further 90 days. At the end of those 90 days it is taken offline, after a final email to the address on the account, and a sealed copy of your books is kept for 5 years; you may ask for it at any time. Paying at any point while the account is online restores everything exactly as you left it.
7. Refunds and cancelling
Annual plans: ask within 30 days of paying and the whole amount is refunded. Monthly plans: cancel within 7 days of a charge and that charge is refunded in full; after that the month you paid for runs to its end and you are not charged again. Cancelling is not the same as deleting — section 6 sets out how long your data is kept.
8. What we ask of you
Give accurate account details, keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, and use the service lawfully. You are responsible for what the people you invite into your account do with it. We may suspend an account that is being used to break the law, to attack the service, or in a way that puts other customers at risk — we will tell you why.
9. Support
Support is by email at info@fiskalaccounting.com and through the problem-report button inside the system. Setting up your books — the chart of accounts, opening balances, importing customers and suppliers, and training — is a separate one-off service, not part of the subscription.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and we will tell account holders by email before a change that materially affects them takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means the updated terms apply.
11. Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost business, however it arises.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and the courts of Lebanon have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
