Privacy policy
What we collect, what we never do with it, where it is kept and how to get it back. Short, because there is not much of it.
1. What this covers
This policy covers the hosted service at fiskalaccounting.com and this website. Contact us about anything in it at info@fiskalaccounting.com.
2. What this website records
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how these pages are used: which pages are read, roughly which country a visit comes from, what kind of device it is, and how the visitor found us. It runs only if you press Accept on the cookie bar — until then nothing is sent to Google and no cookie is set, and if you press Decline it never runs. If you accept, it stores cookies in your browser and Google processes the data under its own privacy policy. We use it only to count and improve — not for advertising, and we do not link it to who you are. You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie choices” at the bottom of every page; withdrawing removes those cookies. It runs on these marketing pages only: the Fiskal Accounting system you sign in to carries no analytics, and nothing from your account or your books is ever sent to it. Everything else on these pages — fonts and images — is served from our own server. Your browser also remembers your cookie choice and whether you chose the light or dark theme. If you accept, your browser also keeps one small note of ours: the date of your first visit. It is a date and nothing else — not a number that identifies you — and it only lets us tell a new visitor from a returning one. Withdrawing your choice removes it too. Separately, our server keeps an ordinary access log of requests — the address the request came from, the page, the time — for 12 months. When you leave a page, it also notes how long the page was open, how far it was scrolled and your browser’s time zone (a region such as “Asia/Beirut”, not a location); this uses no cookie and nothing is stored on your device. We use it to count visits and to notice abuse; it is not tied to who you are, it is not used for advertising, and it is never shared.
3. What we collect when you open an account
The details you give us: your name, your business name, your email address, a phone number if you provide one, and a referral code if you came through one. We also record the IP address a signup came from, to stop the trial form being abused. To open a trial we also ask for a photo or scan of an ID and proof that the business is real — a trade licence, a company registration or an IATA certificate. They are seen only by us, only to decide whether to open the account; they are never shown on any page, and they are stored apart from the system itself, where no web address reaches them.
4. What you enter is yours, not ours
Your customers, suppliers, invoices, payments and ledger are your business records. We hold them so the service can show them back to you. We do not read them for any other purpose, we do not sell or share them, and we do not use them to train anything. Each business is kept in its own separate database, not in shared tables with a column marking whose row is whose.
5. Sign-in and security records
We record sign-in attempts — the email tried, the IP address, the browser, and whether it succeeded — so that we and you can see an account being attacked. Inside the system, changes to records are kept in an audit trail showing who changed what and when. Both exist for your protection and are visible to your own administrators.
6. Payments
We record that a payment was made and the period it covers. If you pay by card through a payment provider, the card details are handled by that provider — card numbers never reach our servers.
7. Email and messages
We send you service email: your trial code, receipts, notices about your account, and replies to problem reports. If you use the WhatsApp features to message your own customers, those messages are sent from the connection you set up and their content is not stored by us beyond what your own system records.
8. Where it is kept, and for how long
Your data lives on servers we operate, with regular backups. It is kept while your account is open. When a subscription or trial ends, the account is read-only for 12 months, then suspended for 90 days, and then taken offline after a final email — the same timetable set out in our terms. After that we keep one sealed copy of your books for 5 years, off the live system and encrypted, which you can ask for at any time; it is then removed. Backups rotate and are removed on their own schedule.
9. Who else sees it
Nobody outside Fiskal Accounting, unless the law requires it. We do not sell data and we do not pass it to advertisers. Our own staff access a customer's account only to provide support, and any such access is recorded and read-only.
10. Your rights over it
You can download a complete backup of your own database from inside the system at any time while your account is open — you do not need to ask us. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete your account and its data sooner than the timetable above. Email info@fiskalaccounting.com from the address on the account.
11. Changes to this policy
The date at the top shows when this policy last changed. If a change materially affects account holders, we will tell them by email before it takes effect.
